What is SOOK?

A giant Chesapeake blue crab on 4 big wheels, powered only by 4 pilots pedalling.
She races about 15 miles through Baltimore, splashes into the harbor and crawls through sand and mud.
The 2027 theme is True Colors: she turns from blue to steamed orange in the water, then rainbow.
Built on weekends by Baltimore families, friends and neighbors. Kids help paint.

Why sponsor?

The race, run by the American Visionary Art Museum, draws huge crowds and local TV and press every year.
Thousands scan SOOK's QR code on race day: your name is on that page.
We film the whole build: your parts, in action, all winter.
Families pay nothing. Sponsors pay for everything, safety first.

Parts count. In-kind parts and materials count at their retail price. Services count at the going rate. A discount counts as the money it saves us. Where logos go: SOOK's painted name and sponsor boards (both sides), crew shirts and our web pages. Never painted on the crab herself. Logo placement follows AVAM's race rules.
